Eclipsed Currents explores the interplay between controlled gesture and unplanned motion. The composition balances broad, dark arcs that loop and coil across a luminous yellow and purple ground. Those twisting marks feel like currents—sometimes forceful, sometimes playful—moving through layers of scraped and brushed pigment. Thin, linear elements in the background add a quieter grid-like order that the foreground swirls both interrupt and dance with.
The surface shows visible texture and brushwork: thick impasto strokes meet areas of thinner wash, producing depth and subtle colour shifts where yellow and purple meet. The black forms are deliberately applied to read as both figure and movement, inviting the eye to trace paths rather than fix on a single focal point.
