Sky Weave
Sky Weave presents a layered, tactile landscape where texture and colour do the talking. The composition moves from grounding ochres and greys in the foreground through a warm midplane, up into a sky of soft blues, blushes, and streaks of light. I used palette-knife and brushwork to build ridges and swaths of paint, creating surfaces that catch light differently from every angle.
The horizon is abstracted rather than literal: hints of structural lines suggest distant forms while remaining open to interpretation. Those unexpected touches of light — small yellow accents and pale highlights — puncture the muted palette and invite the eye to travel across the canvas. The aim was not to depict a specific place but to evoke the sensation of a landscape remembered and reshaped, equal parts calm and curiosity.
